Keep the Lead
Got a green shell in Mario Kart 8? Use it to block red homing shells when you are out in front – just hold down the L trigger to move it into place.
Copy Cat
Use the Double Cherry in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury to create and control several copies of your character.
Activate the Flag
Bag extra points in Super Mario 3D World by being the first player to touch the checkpoint flag.
Old Moons
In Super Mario Odyssey, touching a Moon you have already grabbed will give you a few yellow coins and fill your health.
Unlock Minigames
Paddle along the river, aiming for red balloons, in Super Mario Party’s Survival Mode to get co-op minigames.
Bonus Coins
Run circles around the wooden poles in Super Mario 64’s Bob-Omb Battlefield to get five extra coins.
Steal the Crown
If you didn’t win the crown in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury multiplayer, use a Ground Pound to pinch it!
Suss Out Secret Areas
In New Super Mario Bros: U Deluxe, players can run through some areas blocked by terrain – just look for walls with small notches in them.
Snazzy Stunts
Tap the R trigger or shake your controller the second you leave a ramp in Mario Kart 8 to perform a snazzy stunt. Beware – if you do this too early, you will ruin your take-off.
Shockwave Defeat
If you are in a Super Mario 3D World multiplayer game and all players Ground Pound at exactly the same time, you will take out any nearby enemies with a shockwave!
Ditch the Crazy 8
In Mario Kart 8, if you find yourself with the Crazy 8 power-up and there are players around you, get rid of them! You wouldn’t want them to steal the Super Star.
Act Like a Penguin
When you locate the penguin in Super Mario 64’s Cool, Cool Mountain, do a belly flop and watch what happens!
