Pokemon Ambrette Town Walkthrough
This dusty town features a number of important facilities, including a Pokemon Centre, an aquarium and a laboratory where Pokemon fossils are studied and restored. Passing through the Ambrette Aquarium lets you explore Route 8’s southern shoreline, while heading through Ambrette Town’s east gate will take you to Route 9.
Step 1
As you enter Ambrette Town, pause for a moment to speak to the person near the Pokemon Centre. They give you TM94 Rock Smash, a very useful field move that lets you smash through small, cracked boulders. This will open up all kinds of new routes for you to explore.
Step 2
In Ambrette Town, after you have rested your weary Pokemon, walk along the narrow space on the Pokemon Centre’s east side. You will reach a thin ledge back at Route 8 that holds a Heart Scale.
Step 3
A man near the Fossil Lab will give you a valuable Dive Ball, provided that you part with a normal Poke Ball in trade. It is a great deal for you, so go ahead and make it! The man will offer you similar trades each day, if you ask him.
Step 4
Serena/Calem is anxious to visit the Fossil Lab, so make it your next stop. Unfortunately, the lab workers cannot shed much light on the mystery of Mega Evolution. However, they are able to point you in a new direction, hinting that you might find some answers by locating their field assistant in Glittering Cave to the east.
Step 5
You know where you need to go next, but there is more to explore in Ambrette Town. Visit Hotel Ambrette next to find Mr Bonding waiting on the top floor. This time, the kindly gent gives you an O-Power called Sp. Def Power. You can also get TM96 Nature Power in the lobby, so remember to be friendly to other travellers.
Step 6
A trainer in the small house west of the Fossil Lab will give you a Health Wing if you can show her a Pokemon with the kind of speed she wants to see. She will give you one a day, as long as you can show her a speedy Pokemon to her liking.
Step 7
Your next stop is the Ambrette Aquarium, which is located up north, near the Pokemon Centre. Go inside, head downstairs, and then speak with a generous man to receive an Old Rod. This special item lets you fish up Pokemon from any body of water, including the ocean. You cannot complete your Kalos Coastal Pokedex without it!
Step 8
Exit the Ambrette Aquarium through its lower doorway to reach the sandy beaches beside the sea. Go down the stairs and head south to explore the town’s coastline. Use the TM94 Rock Smash you received in Ambrette Town to shatter each of the small, cracked rocks you encounter. The rocks may contain Pokemon that won’t be happy about having their homes destroyed or cough up some useful items.
